Find out more about coding with Ava

Code with Ava applications can supplement everyday educational activities for preschool and school-age children, as well as corrective, compensatory and remedial classes. It can also make the time spent by children in school common rooms, educational facilities, institutions organising children's leisure time and additional activities more attractive.

This app collection is specifically designed for coding classes for the youngest children.

The applications are intended for interactive floors controlled by light pens and for PCs. Check devices.

Applications are controlled by the interactive pens.

Fictionalised applications create a collection of games full of adventures and interesting missions. These games stimulate visual perception, spatial orientation and logical and algorithmic thinking. The specialists who created these applications aimed to develop a tool that would enable the development of programming skills in early childhood education through the use of boards with an adjustable grid of fields (from 3x3 to 10x10).

Children can practise sequencing, using loops, reading coordinates and recognising graphical patterns. Being able to track the sequence being executed on the board makes it easier to understand and detect possible mistakes in the code. The apps support the development of mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Depending on the game, students can practise finding the right solution or solving the problem in a creative way. Sometimes they observe and repeat a sequence of symbols; at other times, they create a route or graphical pattern themselves. This is a powerful tool for learning the basics of coding.

The authors of the Code with Ava applications have tried to respond to the developmental needs of preschool and schoolchildren by focusing primarily on supporting motor and sensory skills through organised, safe activities.

Code with Ava is a coding course comprising fifty-four applications, which are grouped into seven thematic adventures. Graphical Coding, Encrypted Routes, Escaping Mazes, Garden Paths, Word Coding, Numbered Paths and Alchemist's Coordinates. Each group is a mini coding course set in a different context.

Each application consists of a series of interactive coding boards that have been carefully designed. The board consists of a grid of fields and a toolbox. The student solves the task by, for example, designing a route for Ava using arrows, creating colourful pictures by applying colours to the grid, specifying the location of objects using coordinate selection or marking the path directly on the grid. The difficulty level of the applications can be adjusted by varying the size of the boards used, the length of the mapped routes, the complexity of the formulas used, the scope of the mathematical operations entered and the number of items to be collected or avoided on the boards. It is a comprehensive tool that supports the learning of coding in early childhood education. The main character of the course is Ava, a brave traveller who visits the planets in the Funn Galaxy. She carries out many missions to ensure the inhabitants' peaceful lives. Ava has seven planets to visit: the Planet of Artists, the Planet of Explorers, the Planet of Alchemists, the Planet of Gardeners, the Planet of the Wild West, the Planet of Librarians and the Planet of Scientists. Each planet has lots of different tasks that introduce students to the basics of coding and programming step by step.
