New! A package of educational games controlled on tablets, introducing a new way of playing on interactive devices.

The new method of interaction in Motioncube applications.

An interactive way of learning using the SmartFloor interactive floor and two tablets.

In this game, you run the application on both the floor and two Android tablets. Students arrange instructions on the tablets and send them to the application on the interactive device, where they watch their programmes being executed.

This is an interesting combination of visual and practical coding learning that opens up new perspectives in programming skills.

Race Mission: Building

Collect planks, and a fishing rod, then build a bridge from which you can fish for chests. You can take boards and a fishing rod from anywhere on the board, which will make it more difficult for your opponent to complete the task. Collect more treasure than your opponent!

Team Mission: Conquest

One of the heroes must reach the camp's finish line. Working together will help you avoid wasting energy and overcome difficulties. Collect the necessary tools and watch out for single-pass fields. You can recharge your energy by +5 in fields with a green battery, but beware of red batteries, which reduce your energy reserve by -1. Decide which is more profitable, bearing in mind that each step consumes energy at a rate of -1.

Team Mission: Ghost

The ghosts' paths combine to form one path for the characters to traverse. Each character moves along their respective side of the board. Help one of the heroes reach the finish line by mapping the ghosts' routes. This is a prerequisite for completing the task. Get ready for memory training and quick code creation!

Team Mission: Maze

Create an action plan, gather the necessary tools and guide your heroes to the finish line. The choice of finish doesn't matter. Be careful with single-pass fields. Let's work together!

Race Mission: Obstacle Course

You are walking on separate paths. You can activate the trap with a lever and open the passage with a totem. Try to predict your opponent's moves! The most important thing is to reach the finish line first!

Race Mission: Resources

Be smart and collect as many coins as you can. Remember that each move uses energy. You can recharge by +5 by standing on a battery-powered field. The player with more coins in their inventory when they reach the finish line will win. If players have the same number of coins, it will be a draw.

This app collection is the first on the market to develop online games for interactive floors. It is also another part of the proprietary methodology of teaching programming using interactive projection devices, developed by the LavaVision team. The applications included in the package are designed to introduce primary and secondary school students to the programming concepts in an interesting and attractive online game format. In addition, the challenges proposed in the applications from the "Kodi Challange Team" package can support the development of visual perception, logical and algorithmic thinking, as well as the ability to work in a group.

In the game, we program visually using symbolic picture blocks, which facilitates the assimilation of new rules and concepts. We use concepts such as:

  • iterative loop using the "Repeat" block
  • conditional expression using the "If yes, if no" block
  • commands in the form of blocks with directional arrows
  • event handling using conditional blocks
  • function using action blocks
  • clock tick handled by the "Wait" block

In addition, the games are based on exercises that stimulate cognitive functions, in particular vision and memory.

The authors of the package have sought to respond to the developmental needs of school-age children, focusing primarily on supporting motor and sensory skills during organised, safe games and activities.

The boards in the game have been grouped according to the objectives of our heroes' missions and game modes - COMPETITION and COOPERATION.

  • Mission 1 - escape from the mazes
  • Mission 2 - overcome obstacle courses
  • Mission 3 - collect coins and conserve energy
  • Mission 4 - build bridges and fish out treasures
  • Mission 5 - capture the enemy base
  • Mission 6 - recreate the paths of forest spirits from memory

In each application, the boards are arranged in ascending order of task difficulty.

An undoubted difficulty that players will face is the ability to cooperate in arranging algorithms in which the goal will be for the characters to reach the finish line simultaneously or to help each other in completing tasks.

KODI CHALLANGE TEAM combines two ways of interacting with the application - using interactive pens and tablets, thus offering a new type of interaction on the device.

The applications are displayed on an interactive floor. In each game, two players compete against each other, working on tablets.

After launching the board, players will also see it on their mobile devices. Players have access to picture blocks with instructions for the characters below the board, from which they have to plan a route for their characters within a set time. The completed algorithms are displayed on the main board, where you can start executing them.

Interactive applications are intended for the Motioncube devices. To play, you need an interactive pen and two tablets with the Android operating system on, which the free Kodi Challenge Team mobile application is installed. You can run Kodi Challenge Team in interactive floor mode and interactive table mode*.

*Interactive table is a new device mode available in the latest version of Motioncube Player – software for interactive floors.

*The application package works with version 2.7.4 of Motioncube Player. When installing the Kodi Challenge Team package on a SmartFloor device, a new type of interaction - TABLETS will be added.

KODI CHALLENGE TEAM - How does it work?

  • The leader selects the application (mission type) and board and launches it on the SmartFloor interactive device. Players launch mobile applications on tablets and select their characters. The board is displayed on the main device and on the players' tablets. The teams' task is to lead the characters to the finish line by arranging the code from the blocks on the mobile device. The finished codes are automatically sent to the main device, where the game will begin.
  • The host can download the codes created by players, even if they have not yet been sent to the main device. To do this, select the Download players code's button.
  • In a situation where both players have made mistakes in their algorithms (e.g. the character has entered a forbidden field or has not reached the finish line), they can make changes to their instructions and resend them to the main device.
  • After completing a given board, it is marked as completed on the list, and players can then return to it to analyse their algorithms displayed on the main device. When a new board is launched, previous solutions are cleared.

RACE, or COMPETITION MODE

RACE, or COMPETITION MODE

In competition mode, teams work independently and do not reveal their algorithms until the entire route has been completed. The team whose hero is the first to complete the route and reach the finish line wins. In some missions, it is the amount of resources collected, rather than the time taken to reach the finish line, that determines the winner. So be vigilant. Players have the opportunity to set traps for the opposing team's hero. In a situation where none of the heroes reach the finish line during the game, players can correct their codes on their tablets and resend them to the main device.

TEAM CHALLENGE, or COOPERATION MODE

TEAM CHALLENGE, or COOPERATION MODE

In co-op mode, teams communicate with each other to arrange codes on tablets that will allow their characters to cooperate and complete the route together. The characters on the board help each other overcome obstacles along the way. Depending on the type of mission, success in the game may require two or only one character to reach the finish line simultaneously. In case of failure, players have the opportunity to correct their codes on the tablets and resend them to the device.
