Go Lumi! Coding on the screen

maths and logic, board and strategy games, coding and algorithmics

Lumi has a lot of work to do today! The warehouse is a huge mess. Quick, drive Lumi to the warehouse and pick up the lost items so the workers can finish their tasks on time.

Create instructions from picture blocks to collect items and lead Lumi to the exit. Click the plus to add or change a block in the code.

Interactive game of programming a virtual robot using intuitive picture blocks. Enjoyable lessons in the basics of algorithms with little Lumi. 11 lessons: navigation, collecting and sorting objects, conditional fields, loops, functions. 110 levels to complete!

Who is it for?

This game is a mini course of basic algorithms dedicated to students from the 1st grade of primary school.

Due to the varying degrees of difficulty of the game boards, from simple to complex algorithmic tasks, each student can find challenges appropriate to their skills. It is intended for work with a single user or with a group.

What is the goal of this fun?

Introduce students to the interesting world of programming through play. By steering Lumi through the warehouse corridors, students gradually expand their competences in the following areas:

  • designing algorithms to control an object,
  • searching for a solution with the fewest instructions.
  • understanding and using functions and iterative loops.
Mastering these basics will allow them to develop more efficiently and fully at later stages of computer science education.

Comfortable for students

Playeres do not couns single steps, they just plan moves and directions. Lumi goes in the desired direction as long as it meets obstacle or another instruction is called. It is an idea similar to "kodable.com".

Players arrange the instructions in a row under the game boards using picture blocks.

It is a step by step coding course. Next level is more difficult from the previous just by one thing. It is very comfortable for self-eductaion.

Comfort for teachers

Game with tutorial and help for each game board.

Additional teaching materials available online, including full scenarios for five lessons introducing new coding techniques, such as:

  • Creating a sequence of instructions.
  • Adding a condition to the route.
  • Pick and Drop method.
  • Introducing an iterative loop.
  • Creating a function.

Active support for student development

Working with the Go Lumi! game, you can shape:

  • visual perception;
  • spatial orientation;
  • eye-hand coordination;
  • ability to focus attention;
  • the ability to classify items;
  • the ability to recognize patterns and arrangements;
  • the ability to create sequences of commands to control an object;
  • analytical, cause-and-effect thinking;
  • understanding concepts derived from computer science: instruction, algorithm, sequence, loop, actions - pick and drop, function;
  • computational thinking and problem-solving using methods derived from computer science.
